Okay so I'm in the mood to write and someone just asked if I ever passed out before.
I don't know how to answer it; I have and I haven't.
I had two Vasovagal Syncope (you can google it if you don't know what it is) before but I didn't passed out.
I supposed to faint but with any reason, I did not.
Vasovagal Syncope, or V.Sync, is a medical condition when the blood pressure drops and the brain cannot get the oxygen supply as needed.
Well I made that one up, my blood pressure is always low at any given time. So maybe it has sort of relation to it...
Anyway, this thing is not cool. It is super annoying and yet, embarrassing.
Imagine, you're on a public place, suddenly you have sudden bowel movement.
The moment you walk to the toilet; that is when your vision starts to blur, your hand feels cold, your brain numbs, your ears ringing, sweating (cold sweat), everything seems too bright for you and you can feel your face is getting cold (you will look pale as death)
You'll notice you can't walk for long again. If you insist to keep walking (or standing) you will definitely passed out.
So you look for a nearest chair and sit, resting your head on the table with people around you asking what happened.
You wait for a couple of minutes, thinking the attack has gone, and try to walk again.
But it's still there, only not bad as the beginning, but still, annoying.
You eventually decide to sit still and wait for the pain to wear off......... for just another couple of minute.
After that, you can walk again without losing your balance, your vision enhanced, and the ringing in your ears has gone. Although you might still sweating heavily and looking pale for minutes later, it has gone.
Thirty minutes later (maybe less) you can go back to your activity without any hint of V.Sync again. (You won't feel weak after that too)
I had my very first V.Sync at a coffee shop with my parents.
I was drinking decaf frappuccino (I can't deal with caffeine! Blame my frail stomach) while listening to music when I had a sudden bowel movement.
I thought maybe I need to visit the toilet, so I walk to there.
Same as above, I had my first attack.
My mom quickly brought me to the nearest chair on which I rested for few minutes, after I felt better we decided to go home.
On my way to my car, the symptoms persisted.
I had to fight my consciousness until after I reached my car. I rested on the back seat for the rest of the way.
After I reached my house, I felt much better. I didn't feel fatigued at all, I was fine as I used to.
My mom blamed my disturbed eating pattern, but I ate normally that day.
The second one (omg it is recurring) was before I head to Lawu.
After I ate my breakfast, I had the same feeling down under, so I walked up to the cashier to pay my brekkie but once again I almost lost my consciousness.
Thank God I already noticed this one's coming and I sat down for minutes until the syncope gone.
The truth about V.Sync is...
I think my low blood pressure is the main trigger of those two attacks and I'm prepared if I ever have one again in the future!
I just have to lie down or sit until I feel better.
Hopefully I don't get faint.
My hypo-tension has been a major drawback for most of my life, I almost faint even when I stand up after sitting or just walking.
I ate lots of blood tension riser food but still, it won't go up!!
I wonder if I'm anemic or something?
Fud :c
